Booking : what it is and what you do

From MCLS Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

Booking allows staff to create reservations for non-bibliographic resources/items (meeting rooms, electronic equipment, carts, brooms, etc.) that are in the catalog. Resources must have the status of Available or Re-shelving in order for them to be reserved. In order for a resource/item to be booked, it must first be made bookable.

The process:

  1. Resources are made bookable
  2. Staff creates a reservation
  3. Staff generates a pull list for reserved resources
  4. Staff capture the resources (which is similar to triggering a hold)
  5. The user who wants the resource picks it up (similar to checking an item out)
  6. The resource is returned (similar to checking an item in)
