Exporting records via batch

MARC records can be exported from Michigan Evergreen in batch.

Under the Cataloging menu, select MARC Batch Import/Export.


The loading window will appear and default to the Import Records view.

How to export records via batch

Under the Cataloging menu, select MARC Batch Import/Export.


Click on the Export Records tab.


The screen will refresh display the Export Records screen.


The first step is to choose the records to be exported, There are several options. You can use Field Number, use a CSV file that is stored on the computer, use a Record ID, or a Record Bucket ID. in this example, a record bucket will be used.


Enter in the Record Bucket ID into the field. [Note: the Record Bucket ID Number is found on the upper left of the record bucket.]


Choose the Record Type, either Bibliographic Records or Authority Records. Select a Record Format, the options are MARC21, UNIMARC, MARC XML or Evergreen Record Entry. Choose the Record Encoding, either UTF-8 or MARC8. Check the box next to Include holdings in Bibliographic Records if you want to export holdings as well as records.


Click on the Retrieve Records button.


A new window will open asking if the file should be opened or saved. Choose an option.


In this example, the file is to be saved. The radio button next to Save File is selected and click on OK.


A downloads window will open showing the file has been downloaded to the computer. Right click on that file and select Open.


Using a selected program (in this case Notepad), the file will open. Now that the file has been exported to the computer, it can be loaded on other utilities, like MarcEdit.
