Notices
From MCLS Wiki
See Grand Rapids Public Library Training Documents for a list of all Evergreen training topics.
- If email notification is enabled, Evergreen automatically emails the patron after a 2 hour delay.
- If phone notification is enabled, Evergreen automatically telephones the patron after a 2 hour delay, sending the notice between the hours of 10am and 6pm.
- If both email and phone notification are enabled, Evergreen first emails the patron after a 2 hour delay. If the email bounces, Evergreen automatically telephones the patron between the hours of 10am and 6pm.
- Patrons can set their default method of notification in their Account Preferences in My Account.
- Patrons can also change their method of notification for each individual hold when Placing a Hold through the Create/Edit a Hold page.
- You can create a new record of notification through Show Notices when Editing an Existing Hold or through Holds Shelf Maintenance.
- For patrons unable to receive email or phone notices, Information Systems can send print notices to any printer. They will work with Circulation staff to set up a notice schedule similar to our existing schedule.
- We will most likely not have soon-to-be-due email notices when we go live, but expect to have them soon after.
